Ethics & Sustainability
Our products are created with great environmental consciousness to ensure that all our finished products are Eco friendly, sustainable, natural and where possible organic to ensure they are totally biodegradable and Eco friendly as possible.
We make all of our products in small batches and make our products without the use of any harsh chemicals. We also ensure that our packaging is totally biodegradable or recyclable to ensure that both our products and packaging are Eco friendly.
For our shampoo bars we use the ancient method (cold-process) for soap making, which creates a biodegradable shampoo bar with zero by-products as everything gets used up in the making process. We use a selection of natural oils to make a wonderful shampoo bar that will clean and moisturise your dog’s coat. We also use natural spring water during the making process.
The shampoo bars are wrapped using, Kraft paper, raffia and hessian. Kraft paper is unbleached to ensure minimal chemical treatment and is completely biodegradable and is also easily recycled; Raffia, which is a naturally harvested sustainable product is also used in the packaging and is also biodegrade; Hessian is made entirely from natural fibres and is an environmentally sustainable fabric to grow and produce, it is also completely biodegradable.
Our balms and salves are made with carefully selected natural oils and waxes that come in recyclable aluminium tins. Aluminium was chosen as the preferred choice of packaging as the production of aluminium is one the most environmentally friendly processes across the metals and mining industry that can be endlessly recycled.
Our conditioner bars are made using carefully selected natural oils to soften and nourish your dog’s coat. Olivem 1000 was chosen for the emulsifier as it is an Eco friendly alternative, PEG free, therefore milder, and completely biodegradable compared to other alternatives that are not. They are wrapped using unbleached totally chlorine-free (TCF) greaseproof paper, so no chlorine or chlorine derivatives are dumped into our lakes, rivers and streams. It is GMO free and totally biodegradable.
Our dry shampoos are made with natural powders and clays to freshen and neutralise your pet. They are packed in a pouch bag made from renewable materials and is also 100% biodegradable in just 10 weeks.
Our drying coats, snoods and gloves are made using bamboo. This was chosen for as the fabric for our products as contrary to cotton, bamboo can be cultivated naturally without the need for pesticides. It is one of the world’s fastest growing plants, growing up to one metre in a single day, ensuring a quick grow-cultivation cycle, and as bamboo is a grass, it will continue to grow once it has been cut, just like a lawn. Bamboo can also absorb 35% more Carbon Dioxide than equivalent fibres. Therefore, by using bamboo, our finished products would have had very little impact on the environment.
Our tug toys are made using recycled cotton leftover from the fashion industry, that otherwise would go to landfill. Therefore 100% eco friendly.
Our luxury collars and leads are made using the finest natural, sustainable, eco friendly materials.
When it comes to posting our products out, we, where possible recycle packaging from our suppliers. This means your order won’t come in fancy packaging, instead it will come packaged in a box or envelope that has already been used (unfortunately this can include plastic) hopefully to be used again and again!
However, if we need to buy packaging or package filler we always make sure it is biodegradable.
All our suppliers are from the UK and sourced locally where possible. We ensure all our products from our suppliers are; ethically sourced, sustainable, biodegradable and are not tested on animals. We also ensure that our naturally derived ingredients, such as Decyl Glucoside, Olivem 1000 are either Soil Association or Ecocert certified which have strict guidelines on approved ingredients. This is to ensure the ingredients we use in our products are natural, sustainable, and gentle on your dogs skin.
All products are cruelty free. When I am completely happy with the product, firstly I test them on myself, then family members and my family dogs.
